Any season is a good season to play golf in Branson. Its central location, good weather, affordability and year-round courses offer tourists and residents alike a unique opportunity to enjoy a beloved game, while partaking of the beauty and landscape of Branson’s picturesque Ozark views.
“Branson is becoming one of the premier golf destinations in the country,” says Dan Davis, PGA Golf Professional at Thousand Hills Golf Resort. “With the addition of the country’s largest privately funded airport this year and the new highways now completed, Branson will also be the most accessible destination.”
With eight world-class golf courses, Branson is a golf lover’s dream. It is no surprise that several of the world’s top golf course architects, such as Jack Nicklaus, Tom Fazio and Robert E. Cupp, chose to design courses in Branson. “Branson offers an amazing collage of courses that cater to a wide variety of golfers,” Davis notes. “Each course provides an array of challenges that include dramatic elevation changes, Ozark streams, lakes and beautiful hardwood forests.”
Thousand Hills, a Robert E. Cupp-designed resort course, features large Crenshaw bent grass greens, immaculately manicured Zoysia fairways and tees that cater to veteran golfers, as well as ladies, seniors and casual golfers that may only play a couple of times a year. Just recently rated four stars by Golf Digest magazine, it is considered one of the most challenging courses in Branson. It also has the most convenient location to the “76 strip,” yet does not compromise the natural beauty of the Ozarks. All of this, coupled with outstanding comforts and amenities make Thousand Hills a first-class golf facility. Weather permitting, the golf course is open every day except Christmas.
Holiday Hills, one of Branson’s original golf courses, was built in 1938 and later rebuilt from tee to green in 1997. Open year-round, it features a variety of holes that appeal to the low and high handicapper. Attractive landscaping, lakes, creeks, waterfalls, and lush trees add to the enjoyment of golfing at Holiday Hills...a “must play” Branson course.
Newer to Branson is John Daly’s Murder Rock Golf and Country Club, an 18-hole course and development located within the acclaimed Branson Creek Residential Community. The Payne Stewart Golf Club, an 18-hole Bobby Clampett signature course and development dedicated to the memory of golfing great Payne Stewart, opened this year in the Branson Hills area.
“With a convenient location, affordability, year-round accessibility and life-long memories, Branson should be your first choice for your next golf vacation,” adds Davis.
