New Location, Same Fantastic Show
Legends in Concert, a world-famous, live tribute show and Branson favorite for 12 years, appears this year at Dick Clark’s American Bandstand Theater, across the “76 strip” from the Dixie Stampede. “Our staff is thrilled about being in this new, state-of-the-art facility,” says Marketing Director Melody Byrd. “We have many great opportunities to advance the lighting, sound, stage presentations, etc. As a result, the audience benefits from a bigger, enhanced experience. The new seating – 26 across the center section – also allows fans to get closer to their favorite stars. With so much more room on stage and backstage, our entertainers and performers also benefit from the move.”
Offering two full hours of star-studded entertainment, Legends in Concert is a must-see and a great value for the entire family. “Our shows pack five world-class star impersonators into one amazing production,” adds Melody. “Only here can you pay to see ‘George Strait’ in concert and also enjoy the talents of ‘Marilyn Monroe,’ ‘Elvis,’ ‘The Blues Brothers,’ and ‘Tina Turner.’ Each performance is like seeing five shows in one, so you get more value for your dollar.”
Legends in Concert has been one of the most sought after productions in the world for 25 years and is consistently recognized for its spectacular superstar lineups. “Elvis” and “The Blues Brothers” – two of the hottest acts in the production – are mainstays in each performance, but four times a year the show features a rotating cast of stars, such as “Garth Brooks,” “Liza Minnelli,” “Alan Jackson,” “Reba McEntire,” “Buddy Holly,” and many other favorites from the past and present. This year, “The Temptations,” fan favorites last season, and newcomers “Rod Stewart” and “Jerry Lee Lewis” join the show. With a revolving lineup, Legends in Concert is perfect for repeat visits.
Each impersonator uses authentic costumes and strong vocal talents to help capture the very essence of the star he/she replicates. “The transformations are amazing,” says Melody. “Some of them look like the stars they are impersonating themselves, but most don’t. A lot of time is spent getting into character, and the attention to detail is remarkable. They work on making every feature authentic, right down to the mannerisms. There is no lip-synching, which makes each performance even more incredible.”
Heralded by the International Press Association as the “Show of Shows” and the “Show of the Year,” Legends in Concert is a spectacular theatrical production for all ages that includes an orchestra and fabulous singer/dancers in full costume. Daily shows are at 3 & 8pm through December. |
