This historic town was an early tourist stop for folks headed for the White River, the river which gave birth to Lake Taneycomo in 1912-13. Downing Street Inn has survived three floods and has hosted artists, writers, politicians and movie stars. The remainder of the street contains antique shops, flea markets and restaurants.
