The celebration of summer officially kicks off June 6th with the 58th Annual Sun Fun Festival! A day full of arts and crafts, boat rides on the lake, concerts, celebrities, a huge kids’ zone and plenty of food is sure to make everyone happy! The free festival will be held at Grand Park next to The Market Common on the former Air Force Base. But that’s not all!
All along the Grand Strand the summer season is celebrated with events like the Miss Sun Fun and Miss Sun Fun Teen pageant – a tradition that has lasted through the years, an evening Sun Fun beach run, Sea Doo Surf & Turf Jet Ski competition with teams from all over the nation, children’s fairs and much more!
Back by popular demand, the Sun Fun Summer Concert Series will take place most Fridays. Starting at 7pm, Grand Park will feature a diverse and exciting selection of musical artists ranging from Caribbean to country to beach. Be sure to bring your blankets and chairs and enjoy the free concerts!
The Celebration of Summer concludes at Grand Park with the Beach, Boogie and BBQ Festival on September 4-5 where you can enjoy live entertainment, arts and crafts vendors, games and activities for the kids plus a car show and an opportunity to sample and purchase mouthwatering barbecue, ribs and more. It’s the official barbecue cooking competition of South Carolina!
