Murrells Inlet, the creekfront community just south of Myrtle Beach, has long been known as the place to go for tasty seafood. Now, thanks to Lazy Gator, it’s also a destination for locals and visitors looking for an amazing selection of unique gifts and Christmas décor!
Named for Callie the alligator whose home pond is in the shop’s front yard, Lazy Gator echoes the style of nearby lowcountry homes, complete with wraparound porch and colorful rocking chairs. As tempting as those chairs might be, pass them by for now. There’s a lot to see!
Step inside and you’ll discover more than 15,000 square feet of gifts ranging from nautical collectibles, art, and garden accents to gourmet foods, souvenirs and so much more. There’s even a coffee bar with yummy lattes and cappuccinos, and creamy homemade fudge in seasonal flavors.
Naturally, nautical and beach décor are popular at the seashore, and nowhere will you find a better collection! Whimsical wall art, lamps, clocks, themed picture frames, seashells, and decorative buoys are just a start.
Those who like to entertain will delight in the shop’s colorful kitchen and partyware. Hand-painted wine and martini glasses by Lolita are a favorite! You can capture a taste of the coast with the wonderful assortment of gourmet foods including jams, sauces, dressings and dips. There are also a number of local and regional cookbooks featuring traditional lowcountry and seafood dishes.
With gardening more popular than ever, Lazy Gator has the perfect complements for your flowers. Snazzy stepping stones, dozens of fanciful wind chime designs, bright birdhouses, sun catchers and flags are just a few of the things you’ll find!
Vacations call for souvenirs, and Lazy Gator answers that call with vibrant T-shirts for both children and adults, caps, jazzy tote bags, postcards, novelty gifts and more.
Those who love decorating for Christmas will be wowed by Lazy Gator’s Christmas selections. One whole section of the store is filled with coastal, traditional and creative decorations! Choose from thousands of ornaments including Christopher Radko and Kurt Adler, collectibles by Demdaco, and one of the largest selections of Jim Shore on the Grand Strand.
As impossible as it may seem, this barely touches on all that the Lazy Gator has to offer. You just have to see it for yourself.
The Lazy Gator now has a second location! You wouldn’t want to pass up a visit to the original Murrells Inlet location across from Divine Fish House, but if you are in the neighborhood, visit them at The Market Common on the former Air Force Base, between Highway 17 Business and Highway 17 Bypass. |
