With industry experts ranking the Myrtle Beach area as one of the best places to open a restaurant, it’s no surprise that new dining establishments pop up like wildflowers after a spring rain. Few create the excitement of Empire Fire Mongolian Grill. Located just north of Barefoot Landing at 4036 Highway 17 S., North Myrtle Beach, Empire Fire has quickly become a favorite of locals and visitors alike. Try it once and you’ll understand why!
While Empire Fire can technically be described as a buffet, it is so much more. Here, in a unique concept, diners create their own delectable combinations of fresh vegetables, meats, seafoods, and sauces and have a chef prepare it to order on the restaurant’s amazing Mongolian grill. The result: a perfectly fresh and perfectly delicious meal!
It’s easy to do. Start with the vegetable bar where you’ll find a variety of favorites like baby corn, mushrooms, peppers, bean sprouts, onions and many others. At Empire Fire, you pick the ones you like! At the meat bar, you can add chicken, beef, pork, ham and even lamb. Seafood choices include shrimp, scallops, squid and more. Finally, select a sauce such as chili sauce, Mongolian sauce, or oyster sauce, among others. You then watch as the chef, using giant chopsticks, cooks it all on the grill in two minutes, adjusting the flavors to suit your tastes.
Want to try a different combination of ingredients? Diners are welcome to go back as they wish.
According to Empire Fire general manager Bin Xu, customers keep returning to the restaurant because they love the freshness of the food. “They can see the ingredients are fresh, and they see their choices freshly prepared,” he said. Bin also pointed out that meals are easy to customize for any dietary preference, whether it’s vegetarian, meat lover, or low carb. Every member of the party gets exactly what they want.
At any one time, up to four chefs are cooking at the 500-degree round Mongolian grill situated in the corner of the dining room. According to legend, this modern version of the grill evolved from the days when, after battle, Genghis Khan and his warriors would prepare meals on shields placed over a campfire.
Round out your lunch or dinner with freshly prepared sushi, soups, salad bar and appetizers including bacon-wrapped crab and chicken wings.
Definitely save room for dessert! Among other sweet treats, you’ll find Empire Fire’s take on warm apple pie, which can be topped with hand-dipped Hershey’s ice cream for the perfect ending to your meal.
Empire Fire Mongolian Grill opens at 11am Monday through Saturday and 11:30am on Sunday. For more information, call 843-663-3808 or visit www.empirefire.com. |
