For nearly 15 years, Hard Rock Cafe has been a “must see” for every Grand Strand local and visitor. The pyramid itself stands an imposing 70 feet tall, and this cafe has the distinction of being the only pyramid-shaped Hard Rock in the world! The exterior features an ancient Egyptian motif. Sphinx-like statues guard steps flanked by waterfalls and stone columns adorned with hieroglyphics. Atop the pyramid is a glass point which reflects sunlight in the daytime and is lit internally at night. Make sure not to miss the Hard Rockin’ Lights Show which takes place every evening after dark, on the outside of the pyramid. This unique show is a completely choreographed architectural light, sound, and video experience.
Inside, it’s equally breathtaking! Descending the steps into the dining room, one’s eyes are held by a very large stained glass window, with a center panel depicting the Egyptian god Osiris, and a pyramid in the background. The left panel’s hieroglyphic message reads: “Take Time To Be Kind,” and the right one says: “All Is One” — both are Hard Rock Cafe philosophies. To the left of the dining room is the 19th Hole of Rock and Roll Bar.
Of course the Hard Rock Cafe, which opened its doors in London 36 years ago this year, is unsurpassed when it comes to rock ’n’ roll memorabilia, and there’s plenty of good stuff displayed here. See guitars from legends like Carlos Santana, Eric Clapton, BB King and Brian Wilson, among others. You’ll also find a cape that belonged to Elvis, Paul McCartney’s wool suit, and black leather boots worn by Johnny Cash. That’s just a sampling of the rock ’n’ roll treasures to be found on your visit to the Hard Rock Cafe!
What would a music-themed restaurant be without music? On each visit you can count on hearing the best vintage and new-age rock ’n’ roll played over their state-of-the-art sound system and enjoy some of the best local bands as Hard Rock offers live music year-round!
But Hard Rock Cafe is not all about design, decor, music and memorabilia. This place has great food! All-American classics like hamburgers and barbecued chicken share a menu that also includes vegetarian entrées, decadent desserts, and regional favorites. In 2008, the cafe opened their new outdoor patio bar and dining area overlooking Celebrity Square.
Hard Rock Cafe offers lunch and dinner for groups of 20 or more, plus the cafe can accomodate groups of 40 or more for breakfast and memorabilia tours. A private room is available for meetings and parties. Hard Rock invites li’l rockers to celebrate their birthdays with party packages starting at $10 per person!
Don’t pass by the retail store! After all, don’t you want to be the first on your block with a Hard Rock Cafe Myrtle Beach T-shirt? They also have a great selection of additional HRC merchandise. Or have your picture taken right out front beside the vintage Harley.
