T.I.G.E.R.S. Preservation Station

There are two ways to experience the greatest hands-on, interactive wildlife encounter in the world! You can visit T.I.G.E.R.S. Preservation Station, located in Barefoot Landing in North Myrtle Beach or take the T.I.G.E.R.S. Wild Encounter Tour, located just 17 miles south.

T.I.G.E.R.S. Preservation Station is a free wildlife exhibit and living tiger museum with all proceeds benefiting the rarest tiger in the world, the Golden Tabby tiger. Here, you will find the chance to meet some of the world’s most amazing animals up-close and in-person while they play and relax in an outdoor environment. You will see Bengal tigers, Siberian tigers, Royal White Bengal tigers and of course, the Golden Tabby tiger. Sit down with a full-grown tiger, hold a baby cub, or come nose to nose with a 500-pound adult tiger. Our photo session provides the memory of a lifetime. During the reasonably priced session you will cuddle up and get hands-on with a variety of animals while they sit on your lap.

If you are looking for that ‘purr’fect gift, the Tigers Den Gift Shop will suit the needs of any animal lover. As you browse the gift shop, you will be surrounded by the power and excitement of these big cats – only 1” separates you and the tigers!

For those who are “hands-on” and really love a thrill, the T.I.G.E.R.S. Wild Encounter Tour is a guided walk through a beautiful 50-acre preserve. The state-of-the-art facility offers the ideal setting that ensures the animals’ comfort and the visitors’ safety. On the Wild Encounter Tour you will interact with un-caged apes, orangutans, and chimpanzees, watch tigers swim, meet our gray wolves, fly trained falcons, and get the feel for “cubs” on your lap. Adding to the excitement, you will meet Bubbles the 4-ton African elephant and the Liger, the world’s largest cat, as seen in the 2006 Guinness Book of World Records.

During the tour, professional photographers shoot video quality photographs and video of the tour experience. Only the T.I.G.E.R.S. Wild Encounter Tour gives you the opportunity to take home unparalleled portraits and phenomenal videos that can’t be compared to any other video opportunity.

The founder and director of T.I.G.E.R.S. is Dr. Bhagavan ‘Doc’ Antle. Doc is one of the world’s foremost tiger trainers and is also a world-renowned animal conservation expert. “The T.I.G.E.R.S. Wild Encounter Tour provides experiences that create lifelong memories. We teach respect and an appreciation for the earth and all the animals we share with it.” Doc adds, “These animals receive superior care. Our main concern is always for the health and well-being of our animals. That’s our priority here, to take the best care of our animals and share them with the world.”

Everyone is welcome at T.I.G.E.R.S. Preservation Station in Barefoot Landing, but no small children are allowed on the Wild Encounter Tour.

Weather permitting, T.I.G.E.R.S. Preservation Station is open daily from March 14 through October 4, 2009. The Wild Encounter Tour begins at 10am Mon., Tues., Thurs., Fri., and Sat., March 14 through October 3, 2009.
