A 400-year-old mystery haunts Roanoke Island. Here, 117 men, women and children lived for a short time, then vanished without a trace. Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Paul Green captured the spirit of this brave new world in The Lost Colony, performed at Waterside Theatre on the very site settled over 400 years ago. The production features music, dance, drama, riveting action, and special effects with elaborate sets and costumes by an award-winning designer that complement a talented cast of ninety actors, singers and dancers. Meet some of the cast for autographs and photos after the production. (No performances on July 4,11,18; Aug 8,15 or any Sunday.) Lost Colony events and productions for 2009 include: Backstage Tours, Charlotte’s Web, Waterside Arts, Tea with the Queen, Simon’s Pirate Adventure, Oklahoma! and Jesus Christ Superstar. |
