The Y welcomes visitors and locals alike, and offers several affordable options for family, fun and fitness including the skate park, outdoor pool, fitness classes, and so much more for all ages.
There are so many great reasons to come to the Outer Banks Family YMCA! To keep up with your workouts, the Y offers an indoor pool for laps or swim lessons, two racquetball courts, a gymnasium for pickup basketball or volleyball, a workout room and more than 60 group exercise classes a week. Youth and teens enjoy the Interactive Zone, where virtual reality games incorporate physical activity. Parents can trust ChildWatch to take care of young children during their workout for up to two hours, Monday-Saturday.
The workout room offers a variety of brand-new, well-maintained cardio equipment, and many of the machines feature personal TV viewing screens. Trainers are available to offer assistance and instruction on the cardio machines, free weights and strength-training machines. A workout room bonus is the download station where you can download free personal coaching sessions and music for cardio activities.
For relaxation, the Outer Banks Family YMCA offers a massage therapist and a hot tub, and there are saunas in the men’s and women’s changing rooms.
For just plain fun, the outdoor pool offers a spray park, a waterslide, a diving well, a lap area and plenty of deck space. Lifeguards are always on duty.
The Y’s Skate Park has a world-class street course and bowl, and an attendant is always present for parents’ peace of mind. Admission is included with some passes, or you can purchase a weekly, monthly or yearly pass.
The Outer Banks Family YMCA’s most affordable guest pass is the Flex Pass. This 10-day pass costs less than $100, and gives an entire family access to the Y facilities, including one free night of child care at the weekly Parents’ Night Out event. Individuals can purchase a 10-day Flex Pass for just $75.
The Y-Home program offers a membership through the rental of participating vacation homes. Check to see if your rental home is already in the Y Home Program; if so, you can start using the YMCA right away with your home’s Y key tag! If not, you can check the Y’s website to see a list of homes that participate in the program for your next vacation. Another option for using the Y is a standard Day Pass, which costs $15 per person per day. For information about the Flex Pass, Day Pass or Y-Home program, see www.obxamenities.com.
