We are happy to have you here and hope you find these islands to be the most hospitable you have ever visited.
As Sanctuary Islands, we take hospitality very seriously. But not just for our human visitors. We strive to be hospitable to nature and her creatures. We believe that an environmentally responsible attitude is one of the things that makes us so attractive to you, your family and your friends.
We ask you to enjoy yourself on our paths and trails, beaches and backwaters, golf courses and tennis courts, shops, galleries and restaurants. While you do, please remember that a clean, uncluttered, safe, natural environment probably is what attracted you in the first place and is important to bring you back.
If you see something that might endanger wildlife, please pick it up and discard it in a trash can. Please do not feed any wild animals, especially not alligators, who eventually come to think of the source of food as the food itself. If you catch a fish outside of the required size limits, please release it. When you are on the beach, please share it with the seabirds that have come to feed and rest there. Startling them can be very disruptive to their feeding cycles. Collect expired shells to your heart’s content, but please leave the live shells behind.
In the end, however, we don’t want to be finger-waggers. We want to welcome you to enjoy our home. We just ask that you treat it with the same respect and common sense that you treat your own home.
