WonderWorks began as a top-secret facility in the middle of the mysterious Bermuda Triangle. As legend has it, one experiment went astoundingly awry! In an attempt to harness the power of a manmade tornado, the entire laboratory was hurled skyward, landing hundreds of miles away, upside down in the heart of Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.
As you enter the city’s most interesting building, everything is upside down, so to participate in the fun, you must be inverted too. Once you’re properly aligned for your adventure, you can then explore all the other experiment that were thrust with the building! Here is just a taste of the family fun that awaits you!
The 1989 San Francisco earthquake, one of history’s most renowned earthquakes which stopped baseball’s World Series and collapsed a freeway, is recreated in the laboratory. Get ready to feel what a 5.3 earthquake actually feels like. Now, let’s leave earth for the depths of outer space. Here you will watch an educational, interactive film on space in 3-D! Explore the life-size replicas of an astronaut space suit and Mercury capsule. For a memorable souvenir, you can take your picture inside these phenomenal pieces of history. Better yet, take a seat in the Shuttle Landers and use your hand-eye coordination to maneuver the controls and land the Discovery Space Shuttle on the airstrip. Feel first-hand the challenge and skill needed to make the landing! Test your strength as you make your way to the top of our gigantic indoor rock-climbing wall, or check your psychological endurance as 3,500 SHARP nails rise beneath you while lying on our bed of nails! As the building rocketed skyward, it encountered what can only be described as a time portal! It contained a 1900s traveling troop of dazzling dancers and vibrant voices, the Hoot N’ Holler Players- along with their cook Scraps, who were on the steamer ship destined for Europe and their big break. The ill-fated steamer chose a course through the Bermuda Triangle where it disappeared and was never heard from again… until now!
The building emerged unscathed from the time portal, as did its five new occupants! That’s right! Scraps and the Hoot N’ Holler Players are here for you each night where they entertain you and your family with sensational songs and uproarious laughter, all guaranteed to create memories sure to last a lifetime.
