Out Richmond Road in Lightfoot, located in the Gallery Shops, is A Touch of Earth (757-565-0425), an award-winning American craft gallery where the emphasis is on fine crafts made in America by working studio artisans. Featuring exclusive pottery by nationally known ceramic artists including one-of-a-kind collector’s corner pieces by Bill Campbell. An imaginative and creative collection of stained glass, metal art, wearable art jewelry, finely crafted wood accessories, watercolors and fiber art. Lianne Lurie and Paul Pittman are ceramic artists who opened their gallery 32 years ago to display and sell their own work.

For a truly unique shopping experience, visit the Civil War and Native American Store and Gallery (757-253-1155). Located at 1441 Richmond Road, next to Jefferson Inn Restaurant, this shop features a unique blend of Civil War and Native American items. Also visit Chief Lightfoot’s Trading Post at the Williamsburg Pottery.

The Civil War section is highlighted by a large selection of limited edition prints by artists Mort Künstler, Don Troiani, John Paul Strain and many others. Replicas including rifles, pistols, swords and buckles are also available. Native American handmade craft items include pottery, Kachinas, flutes, dolls and Indian jewelry. J. Fenton Gallery (757-221-8200) 110 S. Henry St., Merchants Square, in the Henry Street Shops. Williamsburg’s premier American handcraft gallery offers a selection of fantastic gifts ranging from the whimsical to exquisite. You’ll find artisan jewelry, pottery, blown glass, wood boxes and games, Santas by Lynn Haney and a great selection of humorous gifts. Also featured are handbags by Hobo and Brighton, sunglasses, watches and jewelry. You won’t need to shop anyplace else for gifts on your trip to Williamsburg.

Quilts Unlimited (757-253-0222) 110 S. Henry St., has the area’s best selection of Colonial clothing for the entire family. Also featured are clothing for women, children and infants, and American-made quilted handbags by Stephanie Dawn as well as LeSportsac and Baggallini. The shop has a fantastic selection of new and antique quilts for the bed, wall and crib in all price points. The shop is a favorite among locals and a must for any visitor to Williamsburg.
